Micronutrient Forum Meeting 2009 - Beijing, China

Welcome to the Micronutrient Forum website! The Micronutrient Forum was established in 2006 in response to the growing interest in the role of several micronutrients and their interactions. The Micronutrient Forum consolidates and expands more than thirty years of successful leadership by the International Vitamin A Consultative Group (IVACG) and the International Nutritional Anemia Consultative Group (INACG).

IVACG and INACG were established in 1975 with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Micronutrient (MN) Forum, which replaces IVACG and INACG, focuses on the micronutrient deficiencies of public health significance, particularly vitamin A, iron, folate, iodine, and zinc.

The MN Forum held its first international meeting in Istanbul, Turkey in 2007. The second international meeting will be held in Beijing, China in May, 2009. Please check our website often for updates.

The MN Forum is convening a meeting to examine the evidence on implementation and impact of large-scale micronutrient programs in high-mortality countries and develop guidance on effectively delivering these programs to accelerate achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. The Innocenti Micronutrient Program Meeting: "Strengthening the evidence-base for programs that reduce micronutrient deficiencies and improve health and development" will be held from 22–25 September 2008 in Florence, Italy.
