Meetings and Consultation
Global Meetings of the Micronutrient Forum
The international meetings of the Micronutrient Forum focus on the impact of micronutrient deficiencies on public health and development, concentrating primarily on populations that are deficient in micronutrients of public health importance such as vitamin A, iron, folate, iodine, and zinc. The meetings, which occur every two to three years, act as a meeting-ground for leading scientists, policy-makers, and programmers to collaborate and share new research and operational findings, as well as platforms to further informal networking among key stakeholders. The meeting location rotates regionally - the most recent locations have been: Lima, Peru in 2004 (IVACG/INACG), Istanbul, Turkey in 2007 and Beijing, China in 2009.
The international meetings of the Micronutrient Forum are abstract-based meetings overseen by a Program Committee, that develops the theme and program of the meeting, and reviews and selects the abstracts that will be presented in oral or poster sessions.

Technical Consultations
The Micronutrient Forum's technical consultations bring together scientists, program implementers, donors, global and regional partners, and other key stakeholders to review and advance policy relevant science. These consultations focus on key scientific and programmatic aspects in the prevention of micronutrient deficiencies.
